What I Wore: The Perfect Maxi
If you see me running around Charlotte this summer, chances are I'll be wearing some version of a maxi dress. Not only are they flattering, but they're also super comfortable and cute! This multi colored one from "Lush" is one of my favorites. I actually ran back to Nordstrom to get another pattern but they were already sold out, so hurry up before they're all gone online too!

I love shopping Nordstrom online! You really can’t go wrong with free shipping and free returns all the time. I originally bought this maxi in a medium but had to exchange it for a small as it does run rather large, but their online return policy made it effortless.
So badly wish I could pull off a maxi dress, but I feel like I am just TOO short. UGH. I need a fashion makeover, though, for sure!

Emily, how tall are you? I am 5’9″ and can never seem to find maxi’s long enough!
If I am 5’6 almost 5’7… Would they not be long enough on me do you think? Because if you’re 5’2 and they fit you, then I’m assuming they may be shorter on me so that’s why I’m nervous about ordering it without trying it on.
I have (surprisingly) found all of my favorite maxi’s at Target. When shopping there I know it needs to be considered ‘disposable fashion’ but man — they’ve got some great dresses going on this year and last!
I have three of these Lush dresses! They’re my favorite!

I just bought my daughter a very similar maxi in Century 21.. a fabulous discount store in Long Island…here is the link to it on their online site.. ..the dress fits true to size and is almost identical to Emily’s in a darker color, same Missoni zip zags…there are two versions on this site.. i bt the multi zig gag..i also order online and their service is great..order away.. its a great price.. Just found a LUSH maxi dress also on Century’s website.. two plain colors each @29.97… this is an amazing discount store w/ a majority of current mdse. I love this dress, but because of the spaghetti straps it would need a strapless bra and I’ve never found a really great one. Does anyone have a strapless bra they love?

Thanks for the suggestion! My sister and I also love Nordstrom; they’re customer service is second to none, in my opinion. And goodness, that sale of the year… yes, please! :) We both just bought this dress along with a couple other Lush maxi dresses. They’re the best maxi dresses I’ve worn - perfect fabric, enough length to shorten (if necessary), and ever so flattering.

Hey emily wanted to ask you what you think is the best outfit to wear to a high school graduation?
The maxi skirt is the best way to transition your wardrobe from winter to spring. Olivia is wearing this trans-seasonal piece a lot lately. She has them in all shapes: ankle length to show off her sandals, or a floor-sweeping version for a super elegant silhouette. To create a casual look Olivia keeps it basic on the top with a white jersey tee and a black leather jacket, or a warm turtleneck knit. For a more chic version of the maxi skirt she pairs it with a fur vest and high-heel leopard print ankle booties. To add more shape she accentuates the waist with a leather belt. Take a look at these maxi skirts in classic black, green or beige, a brighter color in baby blue or bright coral, or a printed floral one. What do you think of this maxi trend?
