A couple weeks ago I posted about my love for tie dye and a lot of you wrote back to let me know I wasn't the only one stuck in the 70's. So I'm back to let you know that one of my favorite pairs of tie dye pants are on sale! Like, almost 50% off! I know they may look a little crazy, but I promise I get a million compliments every time I wear them. And with fall coming these are the perfect jeans to transition into the cooler weather!

I paired mine with a flowy white tank top, my Ellie necklace, and a pair of flat sandals. Anytime I wear something with a busy print I like to keep the rest of my outfit pretty basic, so whatever you pair with these pants should probably be solid so it doesn't compete. The necklace is also a great staple because it's a little longer and goes with everything! The pendant is actually inspired by an antique drawer pull I found at an antique show!

Also, this picture was taken a few weeks ago when I took Ricki and her friend, Mindy, to Atlanta to see Matty B. in concert. I've never seen her so excited! If you haven't heard of him and have young kids, look him up! He's the cutest thing ever and he's coming to concert in Charlotte!

 

This was a trend I wasn't sure I could get into again, considering the last time I wore overalls I was probably my daughters age. But lets be real. What's there not to love? They're comfortable and take you back to the days of running around carefree with the click of a suspender.

Overalls are also great because you can style them so many different ways. Today I wore them with tennis shoes and a solid tank underneath, but you could totally dress your look up by cuffing the bottoms, adding a cute short boot, and a striped tshirt. And as you've heard me say a million times, pile on the jewelry! I think accessories are the most important part of any outfit and can really dress a look up or down. If I wanted to dress a pair of overalls up I'd pair it with my Virginia necklace and a Lane cuff. For my look today though, I wanted to keep it casual so I stacked on beads and more beads! I'm wearing the Tatum necklace and mixed the Emma and Ava bracelets to add a pop of color.

One of my favorite things about the summer is getting to go to outdoor concerts and based on a lot of the "Ask Emily" submissions I've gotten lately, many of you have filled your calendar up with them, too! So, in honor of Kenny Chesney coming to Charlotte tonight, I figured it would be fitting to do a "What I Wore: Country Concert Edition" post.

First Rule: No wearing a concert tshirt from the concert you're attending unless you're under the age of 12. Everyone knows you like them or else you wouldn't be there, right? If you must buy one, cut off the sleeves, and wear it with some cut-offs on another day.

Second Rule: Wear comfortable shoes! God knows I've been "that girl" that wears heels way too high for her own good and ends up crying in pain by the end of the night. I've been there and trust me, it's no fun so wear something cute and comfy!

But at the end of the day, there really are no real rules, so wear whatever makes you feel good because chances are it'll be dark and a lot of the people there will have been "over-served" for far too long to even notice your outfit.

What are your concert attire tips?

 

Ever since I was a little girl anytime I was lost in a store all I'd have to do listen for the jingling of my mom's armful of bracelets and I could find her in no time. Sort of like a GPS, but much more glamorous. As an added bonus, the woman uses her hands to talk more than anyone I've ever met, so needless to say it was never very hard to find her.

Well, flash forward twenty years later and I have officially become my mom because there is nothing I love more than an arm full of bracelets. Whether they're bangles or beaded, I need them on my arm at all times! So, when we were creating my new jewelry line, it was important to me that we had lots of bracelets that I could add to my collection!

Here's one of my favorite combinations.. I love mixing the Scarlett, Susie, Ava and Bethany bracelets together on one arm and the Morgan cuff on the other. Each piece looks so special and they fit together perfectly! Not to mention, they make it much easier for Ricki to find me at Target!
