Nude Beach

August 26, 2013 by emily 39 Comments

This title is a bit misleading, so I apologize to any of you who came here today expecting to hear about some crazy summer vacation I went on. It’s actually about my favorite eyeshadow called “Nude Beach” from Bare Minerals which can be just as exciting. Ok, thats a stretch.. but it is really pretty!

Every time I do my eye makeup I start with this shadow as the base because it gives you sparkle without being glittery, if that makes any sense. During the day when I want a more natural look I’ll wear this by itself and still get a beautiful sandy sparkle that brightens up my whole face. If you’re looking for just a pop of color, you can wet your brush and apply a little to the inner corners. I suggest you use a primer, like Benefit Stay Don’t Stray because it’s a loose powder. Unlike many other eyeshadows I’ve tried, this one will last you all day!

What’s your favorite eye shadow I need to try? Leave it in the comments!

I LOVE this color but I find it a little messy with the loose pigments! Beautiful colour tho!

I love this color. A trick I use to make sure the powder doesn’t get on my face: take a tissue, fold it half, and place it right under your bottom eyelashes. When you brush the shadow on, any loose powder will fall on the tissue instead!

I love MAC patina, it’s the perfect sandy gold color, that’s not too warm or too cool. I like wearing it with either MAC satin taupe in the crease or MAC mulch. So pretty!

I put it all over but apply it lightly under my brow because I don’t want that part to be super shimmery.

I love this color! This was my first bare minerals eyeshadow. I really love another one by them called ‘vanilla sugar’. It’s a very subtle shimmer peach shade that is really pretty for a no makeup makeup look. Stila ‘Kitten’ is also a favorite, and Mac’s ‘Naked Lunch’.

If you love the nude beach shade, try Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells trio. The quality is amazing, on par with high end brands like UD, and dirt cheap! Very pigmented and last all day - I highly recommend giving them a go!

I put “sell out” by urban decay on my whole lid then put bare minerals “warm” in my crease. Sell out has a little sparkle to it and because I use bare minerals foundation I find it really helpful to use the “warm” in different areas.

    Love you Emily!

I absolutely love this one! This color was my recent discovery this summer. My other go-to color is “Queen Phyllis”. It’s a gold-toned shimmery color from bare minerals. Love!

    Hey Emily!

I love warm tones, so one of my favorite shadows is by Laura Mercier and it’s called “Baroque”. Also look into “Bare Skin” by Bare Minerals….I think you will LOVE it. Same effect as Nude Beach but a little more flesh toned. Xoxox

Another great similar color is also called “Nude” found in the Lorac Pro Palette! Paired with their “Pewter” is a great everyday combo. Loooove the makeup posts, keep them coming!!

I agree with others about Kitten by Stila. It really brightens and opens up your eyes. You can apply it as a highlight under the brows and on the inner eye corners.

It is actually one of my favorits too! However, I recently discovered KITTEN by Stila, and I must say, I hated it at first, but now when I use it in combination with other colors, I just LOVE it! 🙂

I am also crazy about my new Smashbox palette from light to dark or something where I mostly have purples. The pigmentation is INSANE! 🙂

Try Queen Phyllis from Bare Minerals! Its the perfect base. I like to match it with Tiger’s Eye which is technically a liner, but i use it for a smokey eyeshadow. It’s perfect!

My favorite every day color from Bare Minerals is Queen Phyllis. It is a perfect base and I love to match it with Firefly and Tiger’s Eye in the crease. Tiger’s Eye is technically a liner, but it is my absolute favorite for a smokey eye.

I would recommend any MAC shadows. They last for like a year! They are heavily pigmented also. I have very sensitive eyes and wear contacts, so my eyes water easily and are very senstive. To me, they are the best. I also use a MAC Paint Pot in “Painterly” to start, which makes my shadow stay on all day and it never creases.
